2015 POWER-SHIFT TUSSLE: UDUAGHAN SUES FOR PEACE

Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan
Delta State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has waded into the rumpus generated by a publication, quoting the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Mr Ovuozourie Macaulay, as saying that he (Macaulay) was not aware of any agreement between the Anioma and other parts of the state for a power shift.

DELTA DECIDES reliably gathered that following the dust raised by the reckless comment, the governor spoke with the embattled SSG, who was reported to have told the governor that the views he expressed were supposed to be “off camera” at his residence after a formal briefing.

NO POWER SHIFT PACT IN DELTA STATE........ SSG

Comr. Ovouzourie Macaulay in a chat with newsmen

A PROMINENT member of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Secretary to the Delta State Government, Ovouzourie Macaulay, has denied the existence of an agreement for power shift among the three senatorial districts.

Fielding questions from reporters at Asaba, Macaulay, a member of the G3, which campaigned vigorously for incumbent Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan in 2007, said that before now, he had thrown his full weight behind the emergence of a candidate from the Igbo-speaking (Anioma) part of the state which makes up the Delta North Senatorial district but was beginning to be skeptical about the agenda.

Leo Ogor, A Honorable and His Forth Term Ambition.

Rt. Hon Leonard Ogor Okuweh

The rumour has been going round for quite sometime now and as much as we try to waive it off, it keeps re-echoing. We are not saying that there is an element of truth in it neither are we saying that there is no iota of truth in it but we just can't keep it as it is our duty to sensitize the Delta electorates as the 2015 general election draws near.

The rumour mill has it that Hon. Leonard Okuweh Ogor, who is presently on his 3rd term in office is still interested in the lower house of the National Assembly.

According to a source who is very close to the lawmaker, the PDP deputy house leader who represents Isoko constituency at the house of representatives loves serving his people as he has been doing in the past 11 years and still going to do same in the remaining one year, therefore, he sees it as an obligation on his constituents to support his return to the lower house for a record 4th time.

A Sincere Advise to Political Surrogates...By Smart Ajaja

The best way to sell a candidate to the electorates is to espouse the good qualities of that candidate and his positions on critical issues, and not by attacking his opponents, using unsubstantiated frivolities, the consequences of which could be fatal if the voters are enlightened enough to read between the lines.

It is sad that Nigerian politics is played on the "Ghana must go" mentality rather than principles, issues and ideologies, and this accounts for why there are so many fools with money occupying sensitive positions they know nothing about and what is expected of anybody in those positions.

I hope the people would be wiser in 2015 by not casting votes based on emotion associated with allegiance to blood, tribe, religion or religious denominations, salt, rice beans and Ankara gifts, but on issues like Healthcare, economy, Job creation and security, Gender equality and social security etc,

Let's do things differently for a change.

Panic In Govt House As Uduaghan Sets to Reshuffle Cabinet

There is serious panic among Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan commissioners and personal aides as speculation making the rounds disclosed recently that It was rumoured yesterday that the Governor is considering a cabinet reshuffle this week. This is said to be coming as a strategy by the governor to re-position his government to be able to actualize his promise to rapidly develop Delta State before 2015 when his tenure as Governor will end. The reshuffle is said to revolve round virtually all political appointments especially commissioner and Special Assistant/ Adviser positions. It was specifically stated that the Governor would drop those whose impact has truly not been felt in the administration. As at the time of filling this report, there was tension among political appointees as they call their Godfathers and helpers to lobby their inclusion in the new team. According to one of the Governor’s Special Adviser yesterday who spoke to us on condition of anonymity, he maintained that the rumour of cabinet reshuffle has been in the circle since last year and truly hope it would soon be over. “ ALL IS WELL”, he stated.
