Delta Women Passes Vote Of Confidence on Ochei

DELTA State Women with the name “Concerned Women for Ochei, Ndokwa Chapter, rose from their executive meeting last Sunday, with vote of confidence for excellent performance passed on the speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei. The Women during their National Executive meeting in Kwale, also called on the speaker to join other Delta North aspirants for the governorship of the state come 2015 elections.


Moving the motion for the confidence vote, Mrs. June Igba from Ukwuani Local Government, explained that they considered Ochei’s peaceful and progressive leadership of the State House of Assembly, pointing out that such leadership virtue, if transcended into state governorship, will move Delta State to vantage global positions.

Mrs. Igba requested all Delta Women, particularly Ndokwa Women, to support the speaker. Earlier, the National Coordinator of the group, Mrs. Helen Chionye Ejieh had recalled that Ochei has touched the lives of most Deltans across the various ethnic groups. She explained that the speaker recently empowered over one 1,000 indigenes of Aniocha-North Local Government Area with cash, cars, Scholarship award and other gift items, and emphasized that the two years successful, peaceful and untruncated leadership of the state legislature shows that Ochei had can govern the state.
Mrs. Ejieh also noted that Hon. Ochei achieved most in ensuring smooth and cordial working relationship between the State Executive and legislature, a situation according to her, enhanced huge democracy dividends for Deltans as well as good governance. She solicited the women’s support and co-operation in order to actualize the group dream of enthroning the speaker as the next
Governor of Delta State come 2015
