UZUM COMMENDS OKOWA ON NEW MINIMUM WAGE ***Calls for more passion, better attitude to work

Barrister Azuka Eugene Uzum has commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for approving the New Minimum Wage of N30,000 for the least paid worker in the State Civil Service

Barr Uzum, who is the Executive Assistant on Orientation to the state governor stated this in an interview with newsmen on Wednesday as workers celebrate workers' day in Asaba.

'Idigun' as he is fondly called disclosed that governor Okowa is labour friendly with his open door policy which is unparalleled and unprecedented. “I believe that this is the whole essence of governance because, governance is about the people.



"The governor pays salaries as at when due, pensioners receive their pensions as at when due as well. He has extended a lot of assistance to the local governments from the state coffers. He also has a warm relationship with the organized labour."

Barr Uzum while calling for more passion and better attitude among the workers' revealed that it will complement government's efforts to ensure rapid socio-economic development by maintaining highest ideals of quality service delivery.
