DELTA 2015: Opinion Poll Tips Olejeme To Win Governorship

Dr. Mrs Ngozi Juliet Olegeme
An independent survey has placed the chairman of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) Dr. Ngozi Olejeme ahead of other aspirants.

Although Dr. Olejeme is yet to formally declare her intention to run, the poll saw Olejeme emerging first choice in 24 out of the 25 local government areas in Delta State.

According to a survey conducted by Delta based research group, The Political Communicators, the respondents said they preferred to have Olejeme as governor in 2015 because of her track record in service.

Some of the reasons adduced by the respondents included the need for honest and trustworthy leadership, gender change, ability to delegate, good communication skills, sense of humour, self-confidence, connections, commitment to set goals, positive attitude, creativity, natural intuition and ability to inspire as well as Olejeme’s track record as an achiever.

“We need someone with experience. We need someone who has built a business, managed a budget and people and has been successful in negotiations.

We want a governor who believes in Delta State and her people. We need someone who has moral character, a reputation for honesty, integrity and fidelity.

One of the most important qualities of a good leader is for you to lead by example, to be a role model, to be the kind of person that everyone else looks up to and wants to be like. Olejeme will represent our interests” many of the respondents said.

2015 POWER-SHIFT TUSSLE: UDUAGHAN SUES FOR PEACE

Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan
Delta State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has waded into the rumpus generated by a publication, quoting the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Mr Ovuozourie Macaulay, as saying that he (Macaulay) was not aware of any agreement between the Anioma and other parts of the state for a power shift.

DELTA DECIDES reliably gathered that following the dust raised by the reckless comment, the governor spoke with the embattled SSG, who was reported to have told the governor that the views he expressed were supposed to be “off camera” at his residence after a formal briefing.

2015 Guber Race: Delta PDP Chairman Blasts SSG Over Power Shift....Says He Should Shut up His Mouth

Left Gov. Uduaghan, Centre Chief Peter Nwaoboshi
In reminiscent of the Pa Clark lashing of Elder Orubebe sometime last year over a comment accredited to the Ijaw born Minister for Niger Delta Affairs over his purported governorship ambition, the State chairman of the PDP and close ally of Chief EK Clark, Chief (Barr)Peter Nwaoboshi has lashed out at Comrade Macaulay Ovouzourie, the SSG, for what the PDP Chairman considered a careless and immature statement.

Comrade Macaulay had in a statement published in a National newspaper alleged that he was not aware of any agreement between the Anioma and other parts of the state for a power shift. A statement highly considered by the Anioma born state party chairman as reckless and capable of heating up the polity in the state.

NO POWER SHIFT PACT IN DELTA STATE........ SSG

Comr. Ovouzourie Macaulay in a chat with newsmen

A PROMINENT member of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Secretary to the Delta State Government, Ovouzourie Macaulay, has denied the existence of an agreement for power shift among the three senatorial districts.

Fielding questions from reporters at Asaba, Macaulay, a member of the G3, which campaigned vigorously for incumbent Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan in 2007, said that before now, he had thrown his full weight behind the emergence of a candidate from the Igbo-speaking (Anioma) part of the state which makes up the Delta North Senatorial district but was beginning to be skeptical about the agenda.

REALITY CHECK: Elder Orubebe’s Ministerial Appointment, Fruitful or Wasted..?

Elder Godsday Orubebe

East-West road
Elder Godsday Orubebe is the minister of Niger Delta Affairs. Before this appointment, he was a supervisory councilor and later rose to a local government chairman of Burutu local government council.

That this elder is seeking the mandate of Deltants is not in doubt, however, what is in doubt on the minds of the electorates would be his ability to perform when entrusted with the leadership of the entire state.

Leo Ogor, A Honorable and His Forth Term Ambition.

Rt. Hon Leonard Ogor Okuweh

The rumour has been going round for quite sometime now and as much as we try to waive it off, it keeps re-echoing. We are not saying that there is an element of truth in it neither are we saying that there is no iota of truth in it but we just can't keep it as it is our duty to sensitize the Delta electorates as the 2015 general election draws near.

The rumour mill has it that Hon. Leonard Okuweh Ogor, who is presently on his 3rd term in office is still interested in the lower house of the National Assembly.

According to a source who is very close to the lawmaker, the PDP deputy house leader who represents Isoko constituency at the house of representatives loves serving his people as he has been doing in the past 11 years and still going to do same in the remaining one year, therefore, he sees it as an obligation on his constituents to support his return to the lower house for a record 4th time.

DELTA GUBER RACE; Professor Monye, A Stooge Waiting to Take Over From Uduaghan?

Goodluck Jonathan, Chief EK Clark and Prof Monye

That professor monye is hoping to occupy the number one seat even though he is yet to publicly declare his intent is not in doubt...That this professor has been banking on his Abuja connection is also no longer in doubt.

Sylvester Monye, an Onicha-Ugbo professor in Economics from Aniocha North local government council is the presidential adviser on Project Monitoring and Evaluation.

Firstly we wish you all happy New Year celebrations. As we celebrate, let us not forget that this year present an unprecedented opportunity for us particularly political party executives (delegates) to elect credible men and women as party flagbearers for the up coming 2015 general election in different political offices.

Yes, Deltans shall decide in 2015 general election, but before then, party executives shall be electing party flagbearers that would represent their party as candidate. So, we are doing everything within our confine in making sure that credible men and women are elected but only and if the presidency do not mandate party leaders to deliver a particular candidate.
