Governor Okowa's Human Face Policies, Developmental Strides Earned Him This award -Uzum

The Executive Assistant /CEO (Directorate of Orientation ) to Governor Okowa, Hon Barr Eugene Azuka Uzum has congratulated His Excellency, Senator Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa on his recognition and award by the Independent Newspapers as the INDEPENDENT MAN OF THE YEAR 2018 .

According to Barr Uzum, Governor Okowa's human face policies as well as his empirical developmental strides earned him this award nothing that the build up to this award would be linked to his actualization of his campaign promises of PROSPERITY FOR ALL DELTANS PROJECT AS ENSHRINED IN HIS SMART AGENDA.

Let's refresh our memories a little by casting our minds back to may 29th, 2015 when Governor Okowa took his oat of office ,it would be recalled that we were greeted with recession biting hard on Nigerians with Delta State experiencing her share but that could not deter Governor Okowa from delivering on his campaign promises rather he took the bull by the horn by creating the a JOB CREATION OFFICE to centre for the needs of the teeming unemployed Delta graduates with programmes such as the Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP ) , Youths Agricultural and Entrepreneurs Programme (YAGEP ) , Graduates Empowerment Enhancement Programme (GEEP) well as the Product and Processing Support Programme (PPSP) , Tractorization and funding of small and medium scale enterprise across the state .

The positive results of these programmes did not just speak volume for itself but attracted the attention and commendation of the federal government as well as the world Bank who recently pledged to support these life changing programmes of Governor Okowa.

No gain saying that Governor Okowa led SMART administration has turned Delta State into construction site where roads are strewn in every parts of the state , three (3) technical schools in Sapele, Agbor and Ofagbe has been revamped while more other three (3) are receiving attention right now.

I won't forget to mention the Asaba international Airport as well as the Asaba township Stadium both of which are been upgraded to International standard to increase the economic potentials of Delta State.

To drive home the point is the fact that all these infrastructural developments would be of less importance if the people are not involved that's why His Excellency our amiable Governor created the Directorate of Orientation to bridge the gap between the Governed and the Government viz a viz taking the pulse of the people back to the government as well as inform the people the direction/stand of the government on issues that affects them .

No doubt this recognition /award given to our SMART Governor would encourage him to do more and bring the Deliverables of democracy to Deltans at large.
