BRIDGE BUILDERS NOT OUT TO COMPETE WITH ANY GROUP - IDION

By Friday Olokwue
The convener of Bridge Builders, Sir Peter Idion has disclosed that the group is not out to compete with Otu Nmune and other groups in the local government.

Idion who also doubles as Special Assistant on Community Relations to Gov. Okowa stated this while playing hosts PDP ward chairmen yesterday.

According to the SA, the essence of the meeting which also had in attendance the state Financial Secretary of PDP, Hon Ralph Azeh, the  Coordinator, Delta Community Youths Association, Ika south chapter, Comrade Friday Orubor and Donald Okonta who recently, defected from APC to PDP, was to discuss way forward for the PDP in Ika South and also, how to get block votes for the governor in 2019 gubernatorial election.

His words,"I feel happy and honoured to have the ward Chairmen of our great party in my house this evening. This truly showed that we are all working together as one family towards the re-election of our Principal, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in 2019. For the records, Bridge Builders as a political group is not out to fight or compete with Otu Umunne or any other group in Ika South but to complement and work in synergy with them towards achieving a landslide victory for our party in the next general election. In addition, one of the primary aims of Bridge Builders is to checkmate 'Orogodo Militant, who has assumed the godfather (Alas, im a king dont give me any advise ) also known as, 'Kaipolo'. We are glad today, to say to the public that as a group, we have to a large extent achieve that goal. Orogodo Militant is now a persona non grata in Ika South. Kaipolo has no base again anywhere in our local. We will continue to work with the leadership of our party and other interest and political groups in our local government to achieve a maximum result for our governor and party." Idion gave kudos to Hon Collins Bello who is the local govt party chairman and his exco members for  the way they are leading the party to become one united family. Ika south PDP have never had it so united like now.

He promised to extend a hand of fellowship to all the ward Chairmen who according to him are playing pivotal roles in the party as a result of their grassroot background. He therefore used the medium to charge the ward Chairmen to be more proactive and win more members for the party, assuring that Governor Okowa as a humanitarian rewards hard work. Idion also promised to discuss with other stakehilders to see how the ward chairmen can be funded adequately without depending on govt for funds to run their various wards.

Responding, on behalf of the PDP ward Chairmen, their leader, Chairman of all wards Chairmen,  who also doubles as Chairman of the party in Ward 1, thanked Mr Idion for the lavished hosting, describing him as a  big blessing to Ika South. He called on other politicians in the area to emulate Idion who he said derives joy using his hard earned money to work for the PDP. He describes idion as a very compassionate human being who is helping out, not only to PDP party members but to the general masses. His benevolence in Ika south speaks volumes hence we will continue to pray for people like him in our societies.

Speaking further, Mr Obiazi appealed to Idion to work collectively with Otu Umunne and other interest and political groups in Ika South for the overall good of PDP.
The PDP Financial Secretary in the state, Hon Ralph Azeh who also spoke at the meeting, called for more support for Governor Okowa irrespective of the  group any member of  the party is attached to. He expressed appreciation to Idion and the ward Chairmen for the great roles they are playing towards the growth of PDP in the local government.

Collaborating with the Ward 1 chairman, Mr. Alasco Agidi, the chairman of Ward 8 said he is lucky to have Idion in his Ward as he has been assisting the Ward in various ways. He said Idion is a man that other Ward chairmen are envious of to be in their Ward because whoever have Idion in his Ward is got a great personality that knows how to fund his Ward chairman.
