PDP EXPELS LAWMAKER, IZEZE FOR ALLEGEDLY DISHING OUT INFORMATION TO OJUOGBHOH

The embattled member representing Ughelli South Constituency in the Delta State House Assembly, Mr. Reuben Izeze has been expelled from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for allegedly dishing out information to Cairo Ojuogboh, an APC chieftain.

We gathered that Izeze, while still serving his three-month suspension for misconduct at the State Assembly, was expelled from the party by the Chief Kenneth Gbagi-controlled Ward executive of the PDP.

A source who craved anonymity disclosed to DELTA DECIDES that Izeze, together with Hon. Monday Igbuya have been dishing out negative information to the opposition party, APC in the state.

We condemn in strongest terms the egregious display of hatred, narrow-mindedness and meanness by Ojuogboh in his press statement with the above caption.

Ojuogboh's press statement is pretty laughable and better left in the court of public opinion. Ordinarily, we do not want to join issues with Ojuogboh, but we have a responsibility to set the records straight for the general public, in the defence of the truth.

To say the least, that his (Ojuogboh) press statement did not only grossly misinformed unsuspecting public; it also portrays traces of campaign of calumny, blackmail and slander bent on destroying the name of our amiable Governor.

SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENT: PETER IDION URGES SHERIF PDP FACTION TO EMBRACE PEACE AND RECONCILIATION

Since the declaration of the Supreme Court last week on who the real chairman of PDP is, calm has returned to the party, with both factions toeing the line of reconciliation.

With this development, the PDP Chairman Ika South local government, Hon. Collins Bello has during the week inaugurated a reconciliation committee in the local government headed by Chief Igumbor, the Osagwe of Agbor Kingdom, with  Mr. Peter Idion, S. A to the governor on Community Relation as one of the members. As a member of the reconciliation committee, Mr. Idion has appealed to the Sherif PDP faction to return to the umbrella body of the PDP, especially in Ika South Local Government.

He stated that there would be no point in going to form or float another political party, as they are well known, recognized and respected in PDP, he urged them to join hands and work together with the Markarfi led PDP in order to ensure the governor of the state, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is returned to office in 2019, stressing that there is no vacancy at the Government House, Asaba.

He further urged all PDP members in both local governments to work together, adding that if Ika Nation misses the opportunity to return Okowa as the governor come 2019, it will take another 50 years before such opportunity will come to Ika Nation again.

According to him, “it will be wrong for any Ika man to support anybody aside Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for governor, saying that anybody that does that will be referred to as an enemy of Ika Land, and also an enemy of progress”.

He urged all hands to be on deck, to embrace peace and unity in pursuing a common goal, saying that a house divided against itself cannot stand. He further affirmed that there is no opposition party in Delta state, as the state is a PDP state, and the opposition in the state is submerged in internal crisis, and has no plans for the people.

He concluded by admonishing all PDP members to avoid blame games and finger pointing, urging them to work as one big family. He used the opportunity to call on the Makarfi led PDP to forgive and welcome the Sheriff led PDP members, so that the party can forge ahead, especially in Ika South Local Government Area.

IKA SOUTH VOTERS REGISTER DATABASE CRASHED-INEC ***To Deploy Machines to the Council Area

The Independent National Electoral
Commission, INEC, has said that the Ika south voters register database has crashed.

This was made known by INEC officials to the 52 clans that make up Ika south during the on-going review of the voters register, preparatory to issuing the PVC.

According to INEC, "we are sorry to inform you that the database of this local government council area crashed. In other words deleted from our system database and as such, INEC will be conducting another registration in all the wards soon."

While acknowledging that the fault came from their staff. They pointed out that the commission will deploy machines to the LG for the Indigenes to re-register.

However several calls put to Dr Cairo Ojougbo, the PDP leader in the LG to sort his views was not answered up to the time of filing this report.

Speaking to DELTA DECIDES, a 2015 house of assembly aspirant from the LG, Barr Felix Morka, said that there should be a back-up of the database which INEC is supposed to use to make provision for the permanent voters card.

He said it would not be possible to re-register those who have done so in the previous registration exercise.

While calling on INEC to rise to their
responsibility by spreading the information to the hooks and crannies in the council area, Barr. Morka pointed out that whilst the indigenes continue to do a fresh registration, there is need for the commission to make use of the back-up in providing the PVC.

DD gathered that it may not be possible especially in view of the time frame necessary to do the data capture and display for verifications before the up coming LG election slated for October.

Whilst rumors have it that intending indigenes are requested to come along with a passport photograph for the exercise.

However, it is not clear how the passport photographs and fingerprints will be captured in the subsequent PVC.

AGBOR SHOOTING: VICTIM MAKES U-TURN AFTER ALLEGED INDUCEMENT

Barely one month after he was shot several times by a killer squad, one allegedly sponsored by the senator representing Delta North in the National Assembly, Mr. Sunny Okonye, an Agbor-based Hotelier, has made a U-turn to exonerate Senator Ifeanyi Okowa of sponsorship of a killer squad that shot him.

It was a dispute, or misunderstanding, between Mr. Sunny Okonye, and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for reportedly burning down one of Okowa’s 2015 governorship billboards at Agbor Delta Decides has learnt.

Okonye, owner of the Sunny Guest House, in Boji Boji-Agbor, the Ika South local government area of Delta state, had made the legal U-turn Sunday. The U-Turn came about during a press briefing in Asaba, where he confessed that he was actually “brainwashed” by the caretaker committee chairman of Ika South, Engr. Andrew Obiazi and the former presidential adviser, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh. The ‘brainwashing’ Okonye said was geared to implicate Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and his aides, shortly after the incident in which he was shot several times with a pump action gun at close range.
