The group in a statement made available to newsmen in Awka, the state capital, expressed surprise that inspite of the firm promises by Governor to rehabilitate the roads, not up to 20 percent of the failed roads in Onitsha and environms were retouched.
Said the group"if the roads in critical areas like Onitsha and environs were not worked on, you should better imagine what happened to failed roads in other parts of the State".
HURIDE in the statement signed by its chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), Dede Uzor A. Uzor and Mazi Unah Zack Unah, the chief media officer said it was incomprehensible that the Governor could not attend to the failed roads which would boast economic activities during this yuletide but allegedly has the luxury to commit a whopping sum of over N1.26 billion naira for a mere decoration of the State this season.

The people cannot be deceived again. The time of fake promises is all over", he said.
