The President of ATF, Dede Uzor, A Uzor, told newsmen in Awka, Anambra State, during a press statement that the Commissioner as a first step should call a meeting of all stakeholders in Anambra markets, which would include AMATAS and ASMATA to find a way forward to organise proper,all-inclusive and free,credible and fair election for traders, which should be supervised by AMATAS.
He said the suggestion was in order given the fact that AMATAS was legally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and also has made the State proud by supporting Governor Willie Obiano's administration especially during his second term election.
ATF president said it was only AMATAS that can help the Governor install his successor in 2021, warning that the people parading as market leaders now have no capacity to mobilise traders to support the Governor when the cheaps are down.
"On that ground, we urge the Commissioner to bring in AMATAS in order to reconcile all the market leaderships in the State, so that they can withdraw all the litigations in the Courts.
ATF maintains that the only way APGA can win election in 2021 is to bring back AMATAS as the umbrella market Union in the State" said Dede Uzor.
He warned that the earlier the Commissioner swung into action the better because many other aspirants from other parties are digging deep into the markets, taking positions by poaching some market leaders.
" If the Commissioner resolves this issue, he would have proved himself the best Commissioner for Commerce since the creation of Anambra State" Dede Uzor said.
He commended the Commissioner for
his professionalism, humane disposition and administrative acumen, which he displayed when he was the Commissioner for Transport.
It is this qualities, said Uzor, that they want the Commissioner to bring to bear in his new assignment. Dede Uzor advised.
