Tragedy As Father Throws Son From Three Storey Building

Tragedy struck in Fegge, Onitsha, the Anambra State commercial hub weekend as a father throws the only son  from three storey building.

A source close to the family said the man, whose name was given as Leo was playing with the  one and half year old son near the rail on the the verandah when the boy slipped out of his hand and fell from the the three storey building.



The source said that at least persons who  where passing along the Street warned the mam that the way he was  loosely carrying the boy, he might slip out of his hand and fall from the three story building  but the man was said to have dismissed them. He rather went ahead to fiddle with child at the veranda rail of their flats.

But the predictions of the people came true as the boy few minutes later slipped from his father's hand, fell from the three story building and instantly died.

The mother of the boy was said to be inside the house carrying out some domestic chores when the unfortunate incident occurred.

It was gathered the boy was the second child of the couple from Imo State after 25 years of their first issue, a girl who has  graduated from a higher institution.

The source said the mother of the boy has been crying uncontrollably since the incident, while the incident has dominated discussion around  the area.

When we visited No 2 Ajaegbo Street, the residence of the couple, neighbours who preferred to be anonymous said the family  has  traveled to their village in Imo State to bury the child.
But some called on the Police at Fegge to arrest the man so as to know motive of the man playing with the child at the rail of their veranda.

Efforts to get the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Fegge, Rabiu Garba, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), failed as his  handset was ringing engaged.
