Bermy Foundation CEO |
In an exclusive interview with newsmen at Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria, she said, "After due consultation with my people, I was advised to settle for the house of assembly to tackle the impending challenge facing the local government".
She further stressed that, she had no intention to run for any elective position in the state, but because of the uprising challenge of misrepresentation at the house of assembly she has decided to run.
"I will run an all inclusive representation when elected as a house member. The time for segregated representation is gone and that is why am going to the basis."
While she spoke with our media crew at Asaba, she lamented over the poor representation at the Delta State house of Assembly and promised to change the narratives of the constituency when elected come 2019.
"I have been in the diaspora for years now, and I know what quality representation is all about. You can not be in the river and soap is entering your eyes. We can not have all what it takes to give the people a better live and pocket it leaving them to wallow in abject penury.
She further analysed the politics in diaspora adding that, nobody uses the elective office for sentimental reasons
"I can understand that one can be reelected to represent his people if he is all embracing and represented well. Yes, when you perform very well, your people may want you to represent again".
Speaking further, she stated that, she consulted with her people, and she was advised to settle for house of assembly because at the grassroot, development has become too elusive and has kept everything in comatose.
In her words, "Moreover, the inability of Nigeria as a nation to translate her aspirations into reality in consonance with the geniuses which has been the major problems with our youths, I will not only represent well but will provide a lasting solution too". She add.
I salute your courage #Big Mama.
