The continued closure of Enugu International Airport by President Muhammadu Buhari has shown his  hatred for Ndigbo and determination to shut down the economy of the zone.

The Human Right, Liberty Access and Peace Defenders Foundation  (HURIDE), stated this in the statement issued in Enugu after its national executive council meeting during the weekend.

In the statement signed by the chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), Dede Uzor A Uzor (JP) the group alleged that President Buhari's body language and policy thrust were clear indication that he does not have the interest of Ndigbo especially for donating a partly N10 billion against over N200 billion needed to make the said Enugu Airport Internationally accepted and inline with relevant extant laws guarding the institution after extensive pressure by some concerned Igbos leaders.

HURIJE/CD Decry Attempts to Shut Down Enugu International Airport

The Human Rights, Liberty Access and Peace Defenders Foundation (HURIJE) and Campaign for Democracy (CD), have decried deliberate attempts by Federal Government and security operatives posted to  the Enugu International Airport to frustrate the airport so as to permanently shut it down.
The groups in a joint statement said it was clear from onset that the haters of Ndigbo did not like the upgrading of the hitherto local airport to international status, hence various antics being displayed to frustrate it.

GOV. OKOWA APPROVES COMPLETION OF ASABA AIRPORT FENCING

The Delta State Government has approved the completion of the perimeter fencing of Asaba International Airport.

Speaking during a ministerial press briefing held at the Ministry of Information conference hall, Asaba, on Thursday, the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Patrick Ukah, stated that the decision was one of those taken during the State Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday.

He said that the decision was made in order to strengthen security at the airport to ensure the maximum protection of lives and property.
