BEMYS MERCY'S FOUNDATION TO DISTRIBUTE PALATIATIVES TO THE VULNERABLE

ABRAKA  -The founder, Chief executive officer of Bemys foundation, and a diaspora ambassador, Chief Mrs Mercy Eguriase Sule, has disclosed that her foundation is set to distribute palliatives to the good people of Ethiope East local government as the foundation's way of helping the vulnerable in this COVID-19 period to cushion the negative effects of the scourge.



Mrs Mercy, who was a front line House of Assembly Aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 2019 general election, made the disclosure during the week when she had a phone chart with nembers of the press. She expressed the move is to help alleviate the destitutes and vulnerable members of the society to  cushion the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Explaining further, she highlighted the areas of her focus as Agbon Kingdom, Okpara, Urho Akpor, Okaruno and Okpara Water side.

Chief Mercy, while speaking further, also mentioned wards 8, 7 and 4 as places to touch in the distribution of the palliatives as her way of saying thank you to them for the overwhelming support during the last 2019 general election.

Her words, "I have to reciprocate the love and trust shown to me by this community that stood firm with me during last year 2019 election,I can do nothing but to appreciate them with the little from my heart and to thank them to have given me  the opportunity to represent them even though things didn't work out as planned"

She slating things to distribute as Rice, Beans, Onions, Garri, Detergent Soaps, Salt, Magies, cooking oil, Noodles and cash which will be given to the residents directly.

The distribution of the palliatives is slated to hold on the 23th July 2020 with major emphasis on filling the gaps which this virulent pandemic has caused on people, especially those who may have suffered economic hardships resulting from the economic scourge.

Mrs Mercy also hinted the press men that her Foundation would not only stop at giving palliatives but have decided to set up a food bank in Ovu so that anybody who needs food items can go there and take it.

She further said, "we are not only going to give out palliatives to my people but we have also decided to set up a food bank in Ovu so that any person who needs food can go and collect." She added.
