Ndigbo Unity Assembly Lauds CP, Oyi DPO for Recovering Missing Children

Comrade Dede
An Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ndigbo Unity Assemblly (NUA), has commended the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr John Abang, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Oyi Division, Mr.Sam Nwachukwu, and others  for their
commitment to fight child trafficking and theft in the State.

Speaking when the group paid the DPO courtesy call in his office at Nteje, Oyi Local Government Area of the State, the President of the group, Dede Uzor A Uzor, said they came particularly to commend him in his role in recovering the two school pupils of Central School, Awkuzu in Oyi Local Government Area.

Dede Uzor said the prompt signal sent to relevant formations no doubt resulted in quick recovery of the children.

One of the children Chiemerie Nwafor, aged six years was recovered by the 33 Division, while the second,  Onyedika Nwafor, also aged six was found  by a team of Police officers from Oyi Division at Ifitedunu, Dunukofia Local Government Area of the State.

They said without his efforts and that of his men, the CP and indeed the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Haruna Mohammed, it would have been practically impossible to recover these children.

He lamented that Ndigbo have  become endangered species in their own land and that was why they took time to commend those officers and men who commit themselves to protect lives and property of people of Igbo speaking States including South East, Rivers and Delta States.

"That is why we particularly thank the CP, and his hardworking image maker SP Haruna Muhammed for the able way they have been combating child trafficking, cultism and other crimes in the State" said Dede Uzor.
The DPO thanked the Assembly for appreciating the contribution his division was making in checking crime in the State, saying such visit would continue to be a morale booster for him and his men. Nwachukwu said  whatever achievements they have  made was just their normal routine duties  and pledged  they would continue to do their best to ensure their area was crime free.

He also commended the CP for all the support and pledged his loyalty to the Police hierarchy.
