Herdsmen: S/East Governors Not Representing Ndigbo Well --Ezeanuna

Herdsmen
An Aspirant for 2021 Anambra  State Governorship  race on the platform of People's Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Nzeribe Ezeanuna, has carpeted the South East Governors for not adequately protecting the interest of Ndigbo against the onslaught of Fulani Herdsmen.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Onitsha, the Anambra State commercial hub, Nzeribe said the Governors were afraid and confused as to how to handle the murderous group.

But he warned that  they were not "elected to be diplomatis" but to execute the will and wishes of their people.

"They are holding  back the truth out of fear. It is not a good representation of Ndigbo" said Ezeanuna.

The PDP chieftain in Anambra State said the position of Ndigbo was very clear, that the Federal Government of Nigeria must treat every person and every ethnic group equally.

He said " we need a level playing field. There should be no sacred cow. President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed the flaws in our so called constitution, which was written to favour only one minority ethnic nationality to rule the majority. That is apartheid. That is what our so called constitution allows. But apartheid is unjust".

Ezeanuna who  has been in the politics of of Anambra State since age 17, when he was part of late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe's entourage in 1979 assured that just as South Africans and other progressive countries of the world including Nigeriia fought apartheid to a standby till it collapsed, so it must be fought to a standstill in Nigeria.

He stated "We must ensure that apartheid as  implemented by the  All Progressives Congress (APC), and President Buhari cannot stand. A situation where one ethnic group, less than five percent of Nigeria is made majority in the Senate, House of Representatives, among the Governors, Military and Police hierarchy, Directorate of State Security (DSS),is unacceptable to Nigerians".

He said for the avoidance of doubt there was nothing like Hausa- Fulani ethnic group in Nigeria, rather what we have was Fulani ethnic expansionism, saying that liking the two amount to gross deceit to Nigerians and to perpetuate their enslavement of Hausa people.

"It is injustice. Luther King said injustice to everyone is injustice everywhere. The conquest of Fulani in 1804 of Hausa kingdoms is not known to our constitution that the Hausas are perpetual slaves to the Fulanis".

He expressed disgust that some twisted minded Fulanis wanted to extend that conquest across the length and breadth of Nigeria, stressing that it would not work.

"I am calling on Muhammadu Buhari to call his people to order or stop using our commonwealth for the benefit of only one ethnic group in the country. That is not the democracy we bargained for. Islam in not the problem of Nigeriia, neither Christianity the problem of Nigeria. The problem of Nigeriia is rooted in the conquest of Hausas in 1804 and their subjugation to perpetual servitude, which they want to extend to other ethnic nationalities. That is the root of Nigerian problem".

He said Nigerian democracy will work when all citizens are equal and all ethnic nationalities, regions and zones are represented equally because we understood we are all equal in the eyes of God.

He said the way to ensure this equality of persons and ethnic groups was to fundamentally restructure the country.

"If you restructure the country, Nigeriia, you create a common identity, common citizenship, and equal rights for all. Then, there will be hope for this nation to rise again", he said.
