TEARS OF JOY IN OSHIMILI NORTH AS INTEGRITY GROUP EMPOWERS WIDOWS'

Comr. Okonma & The Ibusa Widows'
It was an atmosphere of joy on Saturday, 29 of June in Ibusa, Oshimili North local government area as Delta Integrity Group, empowered over 15 widows drawn from the Ward 8 as part of activities to mark the founder's birthday celebrations

Speaking to newsmen immediately after dolling out cash and other materials, the group's Founder/President, Comrade Johnpaul Okonma, said the empowerment was to show that widows can live violence and abuse free lives with dignity and respect, stressing that it is necessary to understand their conditions and enable them to live the life they desired.



"Widows’ children also face several problems like been withdrawn from school and are more vulnerable to abuse.”

Comrade Okonma encouraged people to work towards the rights for widows, highlighting the issues that women face, violence, discrimination and poverty suffered by widows.

One of the beneficiaries identified as Mrs Hope Agugba thanked comrade Okonma for his support. Said, "I thank God for using him(Okonma Johnpaul) to bless and empower us. This financial empowerment and support will go a long way in my life and that of my family."

While another beneficial, Mrs Ashibuogwu Jean prayed for Comrade Okonma, stressing that she has not received such empowerment since her husband died.

"This is the first time we are seeing such empowerment in entire Ibusa and we must commend the founder of Delta Integrity Group, Comrade Okonma for this humanitarian support", she added.
