BOMADI - Seven support groups for Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan's bid to represent Delta South at the Senate in 2019 have formed a coalition known as Concerned Members for Uduaghan Senatorial Movement in 2019, in Bomadi local government area, Delta state.
In an enlarged meeting at Bomadi town over the weekend, leaders of various groups also elected a five-man executive to pilot affairs of the political movement.
However, after concerted deliberations on the way forward, the body resolved to double its efforts in the propagation of the political gospel of Uduaghan for Senate in 2019.
The highpoint of deliberations was the issuance of a 6-point communique signed by chairman of the movement, Rev England Gbenekoru and the spokesman, Justin Puwei (JP).
The coalition however passed a vote of confidence on Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan's bid to represent the people of Delta South at Senate in 2019.
They noted that their decision was based on Dr Uduaghan's rare qualities of equity and fairness in Delta state politics as exemplified in his eight years as governor of Delta state.
The Movement also kicked against fifth tenure in the politics of Delta South Senatorial District, stressing such was an unfair treatment on other stakeholders.
Members frowned at the increasing rate of jobless graduates and berated political representatives especially at the national level in the area of job creation in the council area.
They noted that Itsekiri, Isoko, Urhobo and Ijaw were brothers and that everyone should be his brother's keeper in the issue of Delta South politics.
The Movement further proposed to hold a rally at Bomadi town in conjunction with other support groups in all Ijaw speaking council areas of Delta South, soonest.
