Director General of the Delta State Orientation Bureau, Barrister Eugene Azuka Uzum, has thanked the governor of the state, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for his timely putting in place a high power committee that mitigated the impacts of the flood situation in the state.

Barrister Uzum stated this in his office in Asaba.

The orientation helmsman appreciated the coordinating effort of the chairman of the flood management committee in the state, who is the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Chiedu Ebie, and other members of the committee for their wonderful commitment in ensuring that the flood situation was properly mitigated in the state, adding that other stakeholders who added values in mitigating the unfortunate flood situation deserved commendations.

He maintained that as the flood appeared to be receding, there was still the need to continue to sensitise residents in the state to shun the unwholesome practice of dumping refuse in the drains and building structures on natural waterways , just as he thanked the general public, especially Deltans for their support of the state government's efforts at mitigating the impacts of the flood situation in the state.
