D-G, Orientation, Barr Uzum |
Barr. Uzum stated this during a radio programme at the Delta State Broadcasting Service, Asaba on the topic, "The Impending Flood: What Delta State Is Doing Differently."
The Orientation boss stressed the need for those living in flood prone zones in the state to relocate before the flood eventually comes, adding that the state government is interested in the safety of Deltans and residents in the state. He enjoined Deltans in the danger zones to think twice about the norms of ancestral home and move to safe grounds before the flood, as it's geared towards safeguarding their posterities.
Barr. Uzum, who frowned at the unwholesome attitude of some residents in the state dumping of refuse in the drains and erecting structures on natural waterways, thereby obstructing smooth flow of water when it rains, disclosed that the state government had put enabling laws in place to prosecute such offenders in the state.
