President M. Buhari |
The HURIDE boss said it was embarrassing that inspite of the killings by the Fulani Herdsmen across the country , President Buhari has failed to take concrete and drastic action to halt the killings.
He said said that the President's inability to stem the tide of this killings was a clear indication that he was not fit to rule the country.
He said the security of lives of Nigerians and their properties was the primary responsibility of Buhari as the President of the country.
He lamented the continuous invasion of various parts of the country especially the South East, South West and North Central by the Fulani Herdsmen, stressing that there was no day in Nigeria about 20 persons were not killed by Fulani Herdsmen.
He said about five staff of APAMA, an undertaker company in Anambra State were attacked, with some said to have died, while others sustained serious injuries last week on their way to Porthacourt, Rivers State.
"Federal Government should be serious with the security of Nigerians . Federal Government gave Fulani Herdsmen immunity to kill and maim Nigerians. There is no Commissioner of Police in Nigeria who has arrested, paraded, arraigned and prosecuted a single Fulani Herdsman inspite of their rampant killings in the country.Nigeria is in a State of war and the President is doing nothing" he said.
Dede Uzor who is also the national Public Secretary of Campaign for Democracy (CD) urged Nigerians to find a peaceful way of defending themselves in the face of unrelentless attack by these blood suckers.
He lamented that almost three months now President Buhari was sworn in for his second term in office, he has not constituted his cabinet, rather he was preoccupied with how to disposses Nigerians their land to hand over to his Fulani kinsmen for grazing in the name of RUGA.
The HURIDE boss suggested the stoppage of undue recognition, protection and financial support to Fulani Herdsmen by President Buhari, saying he should as a matter of urgency set up a reconciliation committee with former Commonwealth Secretary General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, as the chairman to reconcile various ethnic groups in the country.
He also asked President Buhari to tender unreserved apology to Nigerians, grant amnesty to various warring groups in the country as well as send a bill to the National Assemblly for the adoption of Confederation in the country with a referedum clause in it.
