Barr Uzum Congratulates Hon Sheriff Oborovwori As Speaker and Hon Ochor As Deputy Speaker To Delta Assembly

The Immediate Past Executive Assistant on Orientation to Delta State governor, Barrister Azuka Eugene Uzum has congratulated Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborovwori and Hon Ochor Ochor Christopher on their elections as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the State’s House of Assembly.

Barr Uzum in a statement on Monday at Asaba, the state capital said; "I would like to congratulate Hon Sheriff on his acclamation as speaker for the 7th Assembly and to thank him for taking on this role to serve the legislature again."



"We could not think of a more exceptional choice to guide the business of the legislature. Hon Sheriff has the respect of all and he has so far brought his experience, dignity and honour to his position." The peaceful and successful emergence of the Speaker has demonstrated the unity of our party, PDP in the state.

“The rancour-free exercise has further consolidated on Sen. Dr Okowa's administration effort of senatorial district balancing in the political configuration of the state,” he added.

The outspoken lawyer cum politician, urged the Hon Sheriff to sustain the legacy of peace, cooperation and bridge-building which existed between the assembly and executive arm.

He stressed that the support of the legislature was critical to the consolidation of the unprecedented achievements of His Excellency's Smart Agenda in the last four years.
