An Ogbaru Chief Magistrate Court in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra state, has adjourned sine dine in a murder case preferred against Ifeanyi Ali, aged 28 years.
The presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Imelda Chukwudozie, Monday adjourned the matter sine dine to allow the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) to prepare a formal murder charge against Nwali at the High Court.
Nwali who hails from Nkanu in Enugu State was arraigned following the alleged murder of Chidozie Alo, aged 26 years at Nwokedi Street Okpoko, a suburb of Onitsha in May 13 this year for failing to give him N100.Nwali was said to have demanded N100 from Alo a Keke operator who told him that he doesn't have the money.Nwali was said to have used a broken bottle to hit Alo at the neck, cutting vital veins which led to uncontrolled bleeding that took his life.Alo who was planning to marry this year with his engaged girl friend before the unfortunate incident hails from Amu in Eze's Local Government Area of Anambra State.The chairman of Human Rights Defenders Of Nigeria, Dede Uzor A. Uzor who condemned the killing called for diligent prosecution of the matter.
