The leadership of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ward 10, Ika South Local Government Area, Delta state has suspended a former chairman of the local government, Hon Frank Ngozi Aghedo and Chief Isioma Okonta, a Special Assistant to the governor on Special Duties from the party over anti-party activities and secret plots to remove the duly elected Chairman of the Ward, Mr Victor Okubor.
The suspension was sequel to the resolution taken after a meeting of the leaders of the Ward, held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, which had in attendance, the Chairman of the Ward, Mr Victor Okubor, Dr Alex Obuh, Mr Victor Ekoma, Moses Ihiaeme, among others.
The resolution from the Ward reads,"The leadership of PDP Ward 10, in Ika South Local Government met on March 10, 2018 at the PDP secretariat in Oyoko, Abavo under the leadership of Mr Okubor Victor (Chairman) to look at some pertinent issues affecting the Ward and to reaffirm the position of the Ward on issues concerning the appointment of a supervisory councilor and other sundry issues bedeviling the Ward. At the meeting the leaders of the Ward resolved as thus:
"The leadership frowned at the negative attitude of some party leaders and members who have taken delight in making themselves absent in party meetings, usurping the powers of constituted authorities in the Ward, organizing a parallel executive against the PDP constituted executive, plotting to remove the duly elected Chairman of the Ward, Mr Victor Okubor, casting aspersions on the governor of the state for non performance and playing anti-party activities in the Ward with the tendency to move members to the opposition party.
"It is based on the above offences, the PDP leadership in Ward 10 resolved unequivocally that the following persons are hereby placed on indefinite suspended from the party:
1. Hon Frank Ngozi Aghedo
2. Chief Isioma Okonta.
"The leadership of PDP Ward 10 wants to use this opportunity to state that the Ward is in harmony with both the leadership and members and will only be involved in activities that are adherence to the re-election of our amiable governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa in 2019
