PDP CRISIS: Nwaonicha Hails Supreme Court Judgment

A community leader and Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Elder Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha, has hailed the July 12, 2017 Supreme Court judgment that validates the appointment of Senator Ahmed Makarfi as the Chairman, National Caretaker Committee PDP.

Nwaonicha who spoke with newsmen shortly after the apex court judgment, at his Agbor residence, said he is overwhelmed with joy that the long awaited judgment was in favor of Senator Makarfi and other political leaders who meant well not only for the PDP but the entire country.

In the words of Nwaonicha, "I salute the Supreme Court Judges for their historical judgment that has restored hope and light in our great party, PDP. I hail the judgment and appreciate most especially, my governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, other governors in the country and all PDP leaders for the sacrifices, time and resources committed to the case while it lasted in court. The judgment no doubt will reposition our party towards landslide victories in 2019 general elections. I urge Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and his cohorts to sheath their swords and join hands with Senator Makarfi to build the PDP as there is no victor no vanquish. He used the medium to reiterate his avowed commitment towards the success of Governor Okowa's administration."

Finally, Nwaonicha said "the apex court decision is a victory to democracy, loss to dictatorship and one party state. It is a victory to the true and real national political party that unifies (PDP) rather than the one that divides (APC). He advised that the PDP win is a wake-up call for all authentic stakeholders of the party to show discipline, embrace good leadership and governance."
