Hon. Victor Ochei |
"I heard that that boy Victor Ochei wants to be a governor too. That boy is too ambitious. He collected about N18bn for the IPP project and pocketed it and now he is also saying he wants to be the governor"....Pa EK Clark.
The above statement was made by Chief EK Clark early this year. This statement by an elder statesman was not just a statement but an obvious indictment of then speaker, Rt Hon Victor Ochei whose company (though, he claims to have deinvested from it) Davnotch was alleged to have collected close to N20bn for the IPP project. This project was supposed to serve the interest of all Deltans including Ochei, Pa Clark, Gov Uduaghan, Engr Charles Emetulu the Energy and Power Commissioner and Ochei's 'Yes we believe' team.
The euphoria and total condemnation of Ochei and his supposed company, Davnotch that followed the outburst by Chief Clark was unprecedented. Pa Clark was so angry that the action and greed of one man has kept the entire state in total darkness while deltans who are known for always standing on the path of truth, rose up to express their anger on getting to know the true position of things.
Sadly, months after the above statement was made by Pa Clark, Deltans have not heard anything concerning the IPP project neither has Hon. Ochei shield more light on it but what we are seeing across the state is Ochei's campaign bill board.
Hon. Ochei What Happened To Our IPP project? Until you give us an answer we shall continue to remind you of it even at the venue of the next gubernatorial primary.
Because E.K Clark may have purported to have said something don't make it necessarily true..so 2 Rolls Royce turbines appears on site by abracadabra? Site prepared and engineering, instrumentation and controls building are completed...wait is a Power Plant a rice and beans business? Ibom IPP and other various ones under National IPP started before Oghara are they completed? Why do people delighted in ignorance? Is Emetulu not the Delta Commissioner for Energy? Is information not freely available there? Did Rt. HON Ochei award this contract to his former company? Was there no bidding process? The fact that an indigenous company built and raised by Ochei to compete with the likes of ABB of Switzerland and Siemens etc I think is a plus more than this attempt at blackmail. If the State Government is not happy with the pace of the project they are entitled to raise alarm..
ReplyDeleteMy faceless blogger..it seems innuendos and character assassination is your purpose here..Ask about Delta IPP being built by DavNotch and they will be happy for u to visit site at Oghara. I had the same concerns and I went there. Try that.
