Delta North Senator, Nwaoboshi Raises Alarm Over Impersonation By Cyber Fraudstars

The Senator representing Delta North at the National Assembly, Abuja, Peter Nwaoboshi on Wednesday distanced himself from the criminal activities of certain individuals posing as him to extort money from unsuspecting members of the public.

 Senator Nwaoboshi who also doubles as the Chairman, Senate Committee on NDDC in a statement signed by his Media Assistant, Mr. Owelle Awele Onokwai Snr, said the unknown individual has been utilizing social media platforms to disguise as Senator Nwaonoshi to defraud people, alerting Nigerians to be wary of such entreaties from any person.

The statement read, "The attention of the Media Team of the Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi has been drawn to a pseudo Facebook account by the name Sen Peter Nwaoboshi soliciting  financial gratifications from the unsuspecting general public for job placements and other matters as the case may be.



"For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state emphatically that the Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi will never be associated with such shameful act and has no iota of link to the pseudo Facebook account. Instead, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, through the instrumentality of his office as a Senator of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria will continue to assist his constituents and the general public in the best of ways available to him. Let it be known that the Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi doesn't need financial gratifications from anyone before offering any humanitarian assistance to whoever comes across his path.

"Consequently, we submit that anyone who does any kind of financial transactions with the pseudo account does so at his or her own risk and the Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi will not be held liable for such transactions."

Senator Nwaoboshi noted that he is working round-the-clock with the management team of Facebook Incorporation to ascertain the true identity of the pseudo Facebook account and possibly have the account taken down.
