As the administration of an Anioma son begins to wallow in recession and even depression, facts are now emerging as Deltans are now seeing the opposite of the prosperity slogan used by our governor during his last campaign as the state is not only in paradox but as it is said that in the midst of material abundance many can barely eke out a living. This negative socio-economic phenomenon has being perpetuated by the Governor’s sycophantic appointees who are presumed to be educationally literate but ethically illiterate and has lacked the moral qualification to be appointees. These appointees and their fans have impulse for obsession with material compulsion for short cut to affluence glorification by some members of the society whose major but unfortunate parameter index for measuring good life is flamboyant, affluence and conspicuous consumption despite the dwindling economy. To this end, the Governor should have known that formal educational qualification is not enough for any state that are preparing for growth rather, he made a mistake and was propagated by his sycophantic appointees who didn’t know the implication of his statement” OUR EDUCATIONAL CURRICULUM SHOULD REFLECT THE 213 CENTURY”. To some, he meant well since it’s a matter of perception while to others, and people like us who are ethically literate in the moral compass he committed a big blunder. Over the time, it has being discovered that moral education is imminent and should not be left out when considering education as an indices for development. It is therefore clear that moral problem in the society which are: corruption, greed, dishonesty, violent, crime, political killing, electoral malpractice and other destructive behaviors call for moral value education. Presently, corruption drives and shapes social value in the state, and for some individual, the quest for “EASY MONEY” is a justification for breaking the laws of the State and distorting public policies directed towards Development. More-over, morality would not be important to the young ones if it does not matter to the adult. The young ones need inspiring role models of people who make positive contributions to their communities, but because many of them are ethically illiterates they do not know that corruption has socially injured us. To this end, it is evident that there is moral decadence among youth since many of them do not seem to realize that bribery, electoral violence, nepotism, looting and many more vicesare anti social behavior and are responsible for social unbalance in the state. Governor Okowa made a mistake not to have known that “moral education” can promote moral development. Permit me to say that the young ones are growing up believing that elective and appointed positions are for self interest and not for public interest just as many both young and old would say when they hear that some one won an election or an appointment. ”HE DON HAMMER“. These has not only resulted in several cutback and backdrop in the system but has equally affected our entrepreneurial habit even the civil service jobs has become humdrum, boring and unrewarding in spite of our material abundance just because our Governor and his cabinet have become Chiselers and are perilously governing us. They created pitfalls and scattered them along life highways and have therefore reaped a place for Deltans in the HALL OF POVERTY. They still continue to DIG even when they have discovered that we have been DOGG in a HOLE. This has not only made development an elusive concept but that there is a cry of SHAME since all monies voted for developments have now been diverted into private purse. Today, we celebrate these ROBBERS who have ROBBED us in broad day light due to the negative effects of their baseline of poverty. They are equally threatened as there is little they can loot compared to before and are now falling back to the poor masses by introducing various taxes like, property tax, okada riders tax, artisan tax, Haulage tax and even going as far as reducing Delta State staff strength by sacking more civil servants. Instead of addressing this negative trend, his sycophantic boys are Peddling AWARD for the Governors Father as the best teacher who retired since 1985.
