TAKE OFF YOUR MASK, BE YOU!

Many of our youths have contributed to marginalising themselves in terms of being part of the leadership of our nation. No one ever hands over power to another, on a platter of gold.

So far, most of them are hungry for money, quick money, so that's what they get. A youth population, especially in our region, that reasons only along the lines of religion, tribe and money, is only thinking the way our leaders have manipulated and conditioned them to think. Such youths, who cannot think for themselves, are not mature, they are unstable, unreliable and they are not ready for leadership.

Crises in Delta PDP Over Power Shift....Nwaoboshi: ‘There was an agreement’ • Macaulay, Anirah: ‘No, show us the paper’

THE speculative consensus before now was that the governorship of Delta State would shift to Delta North in the 2015 elections.
This, of course, is on the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Delta Central has produced two governors — Olorogun Felix Ibru and Chief James Onanefe Ibori for three and eight years, respectively, while Delta South produced incumbent Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, whose eight-year tenure of two terms of four years will end in 2015.

That leaves Delta North as the only zone that has not presented a governor since the state was created. But in a move, which may signal a stiff opposition to power shift in the state, chieftains of the PDP are at war an alleged arrangement on moving the governorship to Delta North.

DELTA 2015: My Honest Opinion – Elder Dr. Chukwuma Nwaonicha

Dr Ifeanyi Okowa

A one time governorship aspirant in Delta State, Elder Dr. Chukwuma Nwaonicha has during the week during a chat with Ika Weekly at Agbor spoke about the Delta State governship race in 2015. The elder statesman did not betray any emotion as he specifically chose Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as the best man for the job.

In his words, “in my honest opinion, Delta State governorship race in 2015 will be based on proven personality and integrity and not on the fact that Delta State is predominantly a People s Democratic Party, PDP state or through empty boasting by some aspirants who cannot even win the party nomination in their local government. These aspirants are only trying to make themselves relevant which is the beauty of democracy. However, as I observed 2015 election in Delta State is not for politicians that are rude, arrogant, unscrupulous, mischief makers and liars.
