How A Lecturer Was Stripped Naked For Attempting To Rape A Student

In what looks like a show of shame, Mr. Ifeanyi Ugwu Raphael, an Obiaruku born lecturer in the department of Theatre Arts, Delta State University, Abraka was at the weekend allegedly caught in a girls’ hostel while attempting to rape the student.

Our investigation revealed that the 400 level student (Name withheld) in the same department with the lecturer was having his course ‘THA 203’ as an extension and that the lecturer has been enticing her with upgrading the scores to enable her scare through if she agrees to sleep with him. The girls’ refusal to play along it was said was the reason he has been failing her since 200 level.


Mr Ifeanyi, a Ph.D student of Delta State University, Abraka, had on that faithful day (Friday) gone to see the girl at her hostel room with the course script (THA 203) wanting to upgrade the scores after she might have agreed to sleep with him, however, after entering the girls room and the door was jammed when suddenly the girls boy friend came knocking and heard her shouting Rape! Rape! Rape! ‘Please help’. However, angered by the loud voice, the boy friend and other neighbouring students forced the door open when they saw Mr. Ifeanyi naked while trying to have a carnal knowledge of her.

According to some of the Theatre Arts students who spoke to us but do not want their names to be mentioned for fear of being victimized said the lecturer has been indulging in such act and that the worst part of it is that he is always boasting that he belongs to the ‘Pirate Confraternity’ and as such, nobody can do him anything. They further said that for male students, he will force them to part with five thousand (5,000) naira each while female students will be forced to sleep with him before they could pass his course.

Reacting to the allegation, when contacted on phone by Delta Decides, Mr Ifeanyi said the school authority is handling the case; and that he does not have anything to say and dropped the call.

It would be recalled that a similar incident was witnessed at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma two years ago, when one Judith allegedly accused a lecturer, Professor Okosun of trying to rape her and who also was stripped naked at the home of the female student.
